Earth Energy Meditation

I recently led a mindfulness walk at a local park for a group of women hikers. Halfway through, we stopped at the edge of a pond, sat on the ground, and practiced an Earth Energy meditation. We felt the weight of our bodies supported by the ground beneath us, breathed into a sense of steadiness, and remembered that we are not separate from the earth. We are of the earth, held by the earth, and nourished by the living world around us. For a few quiet minutes, the pond’s edge became our meditation hall.
